Olive Leaf - Extract. Description, composition of the dietary supplement and methods of use
The olive tree, symbolizing peace and protection, has a deep historical heritage. Its importance in the Olympic tradition emphasizes the desire for harmony and unity, making the olive a significant symbol in sporting and cultural contexts.
The legendary episode when a dove brought an olive branch to signify the end of the Flood emphasizes its role as a sign of hope and divine favor, promising peace and protection.
Scientific analysis reveals the stunning nutritional properties of the olive, rich in vitamins A, D, E, K and valuable antioxidants such as oleuropein. These components give the leaves exceptional health-promoting qualities that help fight oxidative stress and prolong the body's youthfulness.
Olive oil, known for its enveloping properties, is recommended as a gentle laxative, a remedy for dissolving gallstones, treating hemorrhoids, gastrointestinal inflammation and repairing mucous membranes. It is also used to treat skin injuries, including abrasions and insect bites.
In ancient Greece, olive oil was the basis for many medicinal mixtures and balms due to its anti-inflammatory qualities. Today, it is included in numerous cosmetic products for facial and body skin care. An interesting fact is that in Italy, where olive oil is an integral part of the diet, gastrointestinal diseases are extremely rare.
Health benefits of olive leaf extract:
- Supports the immune system through antioxidant properties.
- Improved heart and vascular health by lowering cholesterol levels.

The leafy part of olive trees is found to have an abundance of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and also contains oleanolic acid, which is part of oleuropein, a key component for body health. Studies have confirmed that thanks to this compound, relaxation of arterial walls, including coronary vessels, normalization of blood pressure, restoration of heart rhythm and reduction of cholesterol values are achieved.
Decoctions of olive leaves are traditionally used in folk medicine to reduce fever, normalize blood pressure. As a diuretic, they help maintain a slim figure and prevent atherosclerosis. Regular intake of olive oil helps in fighting colds, skin and eye diseases, relieving symptoms of headaches and fatigue.
Modern research has revealed that olive leaf extract has a powerful bacteriostatic effect, used against streptococcus and staphylococcus, and acts as a remedy against fungal infections, including candidiasis. The extract has also shown to be important in treating herpes and relieving symptoms of chronic fatigue.

NSP Club Nutritionist Tips:
The supplement is actively used to fight herpes, but during the disease, when the immune system is weakened, it is recommended to combine it with a vitamin and mineral complex, such as Vitamins & Minerals - Super Complex. This enhances the effect and helps to balance the immune system. The use of olive extract without the addition of vitamins when immunity is reduced can lead to increased activity of the herpes virus, so it is important to use it in combination with a vitamin complex.
